A look back at the five year return of $100 CND invested in Cineplex Inc. shows a rising rate of return compared to a composite Toronto Stock Exchange and Standard and Poor's index. The stock has remained well above index during this period
According to the company's 2013 management information circular, a $100 invested in 2007, despite a dip due to the 2008 market crash, is now worth approximately $275. This is while the combined indices measure remains roughly at the $100 benchmark.
During this period the Named Executive Officers compensation - defined as the five most highly compensated executive officer's within the corporation in a given year - has staggered between five and $10 million.
The company states in in information circular that executive compensation is "guided by the tenet that a meaningful portion of an executive’s pay should be based on business results.. For example Chief Executive Officer Ellis Jacob has a base salary of $803,419 in 2010-12. His combined stock options and pension accruals bring his total compensation to several million dollars a year with a peak of $6,011,480 in 2011.
